and the unspoiled wilderness landscape of the Serengeti plains. Big game feed in full view

separate rondavel “huts” house the luxury guest rooms that have their own view of the
vast Serengeti plains. |

 |
The Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge is perched on the rim of the incomparable Ngorongoro Crater.
It is built mainly from natural stone, local wood, and timber. The panoramic windows encompass a superb view
of the 311 sq km crater and its teeming wildlife. |
 |
The Octogon Safari Lodge is a small intimate hotel located only a short drive from Tanzania’s world famous

In harmony with the environment the architecture combines natural elements to give the lodge an authentic African feel. |

carved out of the solid rock, to the bar, the lodge offers a breathtaking view over the plains and bushy savanna
crossed by herds of buffalo and elephant. |
Mobile Tent Camps – Serengeti Only |
 |
Sleeping in a tent is part of one’s wildlife experience in Africa. When you arrive back at the camp after a day of
game viewing, the day doesn’t end. There are still the night skies to look at and the camp fire to sit around.
The camps have their own ambiance and very different attractions to the lodges. They provide much more of a feeling
for what is usually envisaged of Africa. |
 |
The camp is small, comfortable, secluded, and is located inside the Serengeti near the animals. Tents are spacious
with beds and their own portable toilet and shower. There is no electricity, but lanterns are provided. There is a dining
tent for meals and relaxing in the evening. You can sometimes see bushbuck and other antelope on the property.
Dwarf galago are common and you can see them every evening at dusk. |
- Tarangire: Kamakia or Kigongoni campsite
- Lake Manyara: Twiga or Jambo campsite
- Ngorongoro Crater: Simba or Kudu campsite
- Ngorongoro Highlands: Balati campsite
- Serengeti: Ikoma Gorge Camp
- Lake Natron: Kamakia campsite
- Lake Eyasi: Lake Eyasi campsite
 |
For a rustic experience, stay in sleeping bags and tents. Basic camping safaris use medium sized (almost standing height inside)
canvas tents with mosquito netting. |
 |
Campgrounds have flush toilets and hot showers. They have a “clubhouse” where you dine,
and sometimes there is evening entertainment. On the walking safari, there are campsites with limited facilities,
and you must purchase bottled water beforehand. |
